I am headed down to install my brand new throne, a Jabsco manual pump toilet. The old one doesn't work very well anymore, so I ordered the shiny new one.

Are you replacing an existing toilet that has the 4 center bolts? I am kind of curious how that is going to work as the jabsco has two bolts center and two bolts to the side.

I have the Raritan electric model that is due for their crazy lower unit exchange deal and I am thinking about just replacing the whole set up with the manual Jabsco.

heres what i put in my f32 couple years ago. i yanked that old crown head (came to the decsion when i checked into the exchange just as dollar bill is )havent looked back yet

I just replaced mine, with the Jabsco manual as well, and the bolts are a pain to keep up so you can fasten them.

My solution: Duct tape the bolts up into the housing, this will keep them up till you get the nuts screwed on. Makes life a little bit easier.

I am ASSUMING for the Jabsco manual that you can use some of the existing holes but you will have 2 mounting bolts outward. Where and how did you handle the two outward bolts?

Also... did you mount handle on the right side or left side?

The orginal monomatic was replaced with a Jabsco manual in 1992 and it's been there ever since, working fine. Only problem is that I've gone through 3 maintenance kits (at $75 a pop) since 1999, when I bought the boat. The rubber flapper valves inside the pump tend to rip or crack at the seams and that means no wet bowl or no flush, or both. Neither a good thing. I may replace the older model with a new Jabsco manual, but all in all they work well and they cost not a lot. The height of the toilet was a bit low (I think for the very short and rotund original owner's wife) so somebody, sometime built a box under the mount that raised the entire unit by 4 inches and helps us older folks make a more graceful exit from the throne.....

Since you and I both have F28 I look forward to seeing what you did, how you did it where is the tank, pump etc.

I just got a notice here in TX that all toileted boats need an MSD certification from Texas of course that cost $15 for two years. I would call this a crappy crapper tax.

Crap and Tax it was bound to happen sooner than later... State of Ga DNR has one too.

So when I take my Raritan toilet out... what am I going to see underneath and where am I going set the bolts in? Just kind of curious.

My intake hose (3/4" ID) was not long enough to reach the new port, so I put it off for a week. I wish I had hauled butt up to the hardware store, as I spent the entire weekend out on the boat with the old unit.

My holding tank is right under the starboard L bench. The waste hose hits a Y valve, then into the tank. I have considered picking up an Electrosan unit, my buddy has 2 spare units for sale, but I am in protected waters, so I would still have to pump out.

I probably won't get time to replace it until next week. Headed out to Alabama again tomorrow, then on the water all weekend.

I will be sure to snap pics for ya'll and post them up.
