New Trojan Owner - Carburator Options?

Gentlemen,
I'm a proud new owner of a 1985 Trojan 10m Express. It's going to be a project boat as it's been sitting for a long time. That's ok with me because I love the style and layout of the boat and I can see the potential! I'll be posting some pictures of the boat and project but in the meantime I have a question.
The boat has twin Crusader 350/454's which I know are going to be challenging on fuel costs. I've searched and read many threads on things I can do to help fuel economy and I plan on getting a floscan to dial everything in.
My question here is regarding the stock carburators and what the best solution is for performance and fuel economy. Is there a consensus that to get the best results you should:
a) rebuild the existing carb and leave it basically stock
b) install some other/newer more efficient carb like Edlebrock's marine unit or some other aftermarket unit?
c) option a and/or b above with the addition of a torquer manifold to replace the stock manifold
d) something else not listed
Thanks for any advise, I'm looking forward to meeting you guys and sharing my project as I go forward!
Mark
