Project 10m Express - Stupid Question #1

ok guys,

First off, I have to say I'm really not dumb but some of my newbie questions are going to sound kind of stupid, so I'll appologize in advance.

Unfortunately, I didn't get any keys with my boat. Last night I was looking at what locks I need to get re-keyed. I saw the cabin sliding door lock and the breaker cabnet door lock. I thought for sure there would be an ignition key on the dash board but couldn't find anything.

So, the dumb question is where is the (if there is one) ignition key switch?

If there is no ignition key then what's the standard process for starting?

I'm sure you've heard the saying "The only dumb questions are the ones you don't ask".
Starting the engines. You unlock the electric panel and make sure the breakers are on for both engines (top of panel). Once they are on you have two toggle switches on the dash panel, one on each side for Starboard & Port. Push the toggle up one position and you should hear the alarm beep and instruments come on. Push the toggle up and the engine will turn over.

here's a picture of my panel.

When we retrofitted to diesels, we purchased a pair of factory locks/keys from Marine Tech Trojan to replace the flip switches that are actually AIRPAX breakers.

These key switches from Marine Tech fit the tight clearance nicely.

Note the additinal breakers added to replace the Airpax units.
