Engine Room Cleaning

Previous owner left me with an engine room that hasn't been cleaned in years. Any ideas on cleaning her up would be greatly appreciated. Is pressure washing a viable alternative? Do I risk water damage to the 671's?

Thanks for all of the valuable info presented here everyday!

I cleaned mine by hand, Dawn dish soap and a shop vac, what a chore, but well worth it. Just wondering though, if you pressure wash where does the slime go?

You can use a shop vac to scoop it up or it will be pumped out . if you have a lot of oil I would not let it get pumped over board oil absorbing sheets work well ,

Use Purple Power or Simple Green and coat bildge, let sit for awhile and then rinse. I have used this for years with good results. Have also used a shop vac to get all water and debris out.
