odd statement isnt it ? but yes the engine was in a different location then the boat. I got it home last night and yes the soft plug has been blown out. the previous owners mechanic had removed one of the heads and showed me a pile of rust in the piston cylinders , the pistons are seized up.
he explained you could keep pushing the oil to it in hopes it broke free but not to sure on that prayer.
I'm leaning moreso to removing what I can salvage of the block and order a new block , heads . any thoughts ? price range ? 318 chrysler

What 318 you need. I have just built 2 new ones one norm rotation and one reverse. Bottom line the norm rotation had froze and cracked on the outside, block is junk. heads and internals are fine. The reverse rotation only needs new brass freeze pluge long block is fine.

I started and ran both engines about 900 hours on them. Just decided to go with new. Your intakes, manifolds, carby, distributer, timing cover and you ready to go. I have the manifolds and risers and they are fine as are the timing covers. If interested let me know. l.eddington@vzinet.com
