Do you have any suggestions on how to get the hose off? Mine is leaking at the fitting.

Welcome aboard. I suspect you're talking about removing the hose from the ram. If it's original, it'll have a collar that was pressed into place at the factory. You can try sliding the collar up or if there is enough hose, just cut it off. I've tried and never been able to slide one back on all the way even with heat. If you use heat, be careful not to overheat and distort the nipple at the top of the ram where the hose connects, it's plastic and is part of the ram housing. The manufacturer has stated that this is not a high pressure hydraulic system and as such a good quality SS hose clamp will suffice to re-attach the hose, hence the clamp on the hose at the pump end. Before you remove or cut the line, ensure the ram/tab is fully retracted or you'll get oil all over the place. You will get some dripping from the hose and ram so have something under to catch it.

i replaced my insta trim lines a few years ago. the hose clamp at the fitting on the cylinder works fine. no problems. if you have to change the hose or its not long enough after you cut out the bad section just measure it and order from the insta trim company

What Big D said, use stainless hose clamp. The pressed on one is mad of plastic. also the pins are plastic so they will sheer. I keep some extras.

I replaced both lines when I had her out for a new motor this year. I purchased the line locally, using line with 300psi working load and 600psi burst. I also used high quality stainless hose clamps, purchased with the hose, not the cheap ones from the big box home stores......working great so far........John
