Repower space constraints on our F25-now what?

Well it seems the engine area is kind of tight on our F25. We have been taking a closer look at our boat and are wondering if trying to fit a 350 crusader will require a major modifications to the boat. The current 318 Chrysler seems to fit like a glove! We want to have a fairly straight forward install and do not want to incur too much additional expense in our repower projec. We also want a serviceable easy access engine area. Any ideas would be appreciated! Is the fwc crusader the wrong motor choice? Maybe we should just stick another 318 back in? Confused now...

I'm in the same boat
my 318 is toast but I can't find a turnkey to drop in I have found a chevy 350 but not sure if transmission will fit without problemd

I'm really not sure why you wanna repower to a 350? The 318's are the best marine motors ever made. I know many charter boats around the great lakes with 318's that have 5000+ hrs on them. If I were you, I would make it really easy on myself & stick a rerman 318 in her & go enjoy your time on the water.
The 318 has plenty of power to push your boat! Remember an F25 & 26 get really hard to handle much above 25 kts... So you're not doing yourself any favors with more HP. Also please learn how to use your trim tabs in rough seas. They are known for bow steer. Rough water, trim tabs up & don't be afraid of the throttle.

Yes, that seems to make sense and I am going to check out a takeout 318 this morning. Thanks for the heads up.
