Hey Guys.

I'm looking to get a tarp to cover my F-26 for the winter. I think a 40ft long by 30ft wide trap would fit pretty good.

Any other F26 owners out there with tarps that can comment on what size would work best?

Around here, tarps don't seem to last in the winter. No matter how well you tie them the wind makes them flap then rips them to shreds. Short of indoor storage, shrink wrap is the way to go.

I have seen some made from trucking-style materials that held up, and there are still a handfull of places where you could get a custom canvas one made. Not cheap by any means, but they exist.

Careful with traps.....that blowing and flapping can damage your gel coat/paint in short order......happened to me on a previous boat.........John

I used a 50'x20' that covered it well.

I was wondering how for down the sides you were able to cover with a 20 ft wide tarp?

It seems that 40'X20' and 50'X30' are 2 common size tarps in stock at the local home improvement stores. Wonder if I could get away with the 40'X20'.

Thanks for the comments from the others as well. My paint/gelcoat on the sides is already pretty rough, can't imagine it would make it much worse.

I was thinking tarp over shrinkwrap so I could more easily access the side windows that I need to work on during the off season as weather allows.

It goes a coupla feet past the rubrail all around. and well down the transom.
