Pulled the boat today. It goes into storage way too soon, but we're travelling and our club starts to pull the docks in Mid October.....so.....
Hope you all have a great winter (those of you who are living in the balmy climes can ignore this).
Big project on the list is to zip off the bow deck, fix some soft spots and rebuild. Bought (I think) the perfect set of tools for this..... Rockwell Sonic saw and Rockwell one-handed 3-1/8" circular saw. Both came in handy when I had to remove the bottom 3" of wall in our semi-finished basement thanks to Irene paying us a visit when we were away and knocked out the power for a couple of days (which knocked out the sump pump.....and you know the rest of the story).

Yaz, yaz, I was a former sailboater. We're on Sacandaga Lake but stayed at Mariner's Landing in Sylvan Beach and also Pirates Cove Marina when we took our canal trip in 2008. Great spots both. Got caught in a squall mid lake when we were going west. That's a crazy lake you got there, especially in a thunderstorm! Really enjoyed the area. Hope the canal gets back a running after the recent round of flooding. Schoharie area got hit especially hard and Lock 10 (Amsterdam) took a big hit.

Yes, the canal is in bad shape. Had to drive from Oneida to Albany via the thruway today, and its still well below normal pool. Looks more like mid winter then fall.

We are on Cayuga Lake and were pulled earlier this week. Primarily due to BIG concern about Hydrilla infestation found and the need to limit boat traffic to prevent spread. Wonder if the state's putting off inlet dredging over the years plays any role? Heard it is really a nasty plant and they say it could render parts of the canal impassable. Hope trailer boats don't transfer to other finger lakes.

ok I HAVE to chime in here , I own a 24ft Huntersailboat and I have never used the phrase Ta-Ta . now mind you I have used the words wench, avast, heave to,and prepare to be boarded as well as refering to motor boats as stink pots but never ta-ta.
