I have often thought a second boat kept down south would be a nice option for wintering when I get older. I doubt I could do it all of the time on a 30 something footer though. I have spent months at a time on an F series, and I can tell you that as nice as it is, its sometimes nicer to just go home.

to alex: not homeless just always thought the Idea was cool. I had a 23 oday in white rocks marina years ago and the live abords were a cool bunch of folks. If I were 20 years younger and single I would be a live aboard. Think this is why I'm workin so hard for this f32. in 8 yrs my son will be 18 how cool would it be for him to live abord in the summers in beautyful middle river.

how true I was a live aboard when I was 17 till 21 then just 9 months at a time after that....on 4 different boats....Big gray ones
but your right a 18 yr old on a boat would be cool...and a girl getter to.
and you might find that you'll have to really check the folks out well that live aboard, I was half Joking at what I said....But do to the way things are it's becoming true...And alot of marinas are cutting back on live aboards. The one I'm at isn't renewing any next season...

In this day and age people that live on the water could rent out a spot on the pier, get a little extra cash and the boat owner could do lawn work or snow shoveling for the older land lords, or water lords as it may be (Water Lord) think i see a boat name...

That would be the last thing I would want in my back yard . One reason the cottage /shack behind my home has never been used . Other then live in lawn equipment . soon to be torn down
