Posting this for future searchers. The brass bushing that threads into the top of the pick-up tube cracked. For $2.00, it might be worth getting a couple and throwing them in the tool box because it wasn't easy to find.
I tried to tighten it and it broke in half so there was no way to connect the fuel line to the tank. Cross-over valve saves the day.

Anyway, the Advance Auto part # is 321109 and it's a 3/8" x 1/2" "bushing.
