F 26 sea handling

Looking at getting a 78 F 26 with flybridge. Seems like all I see are sad reviews on her sea keeping especially with a following sea. I will only use this boat offshore out of Destin Fl. Wondering if there are any new reviews on this boats handling and could some of it be due to driver error. I know you got to plan and stay ahead of the game even in the best boat getting through the pass some days with the wrong current and winds. Thanks for any ideas or experiences with the F 26.

I sure some F26 owners will chime in , But I would not call it a off shore boat .

Depends on how far offshore and you're gonna have to pick your days.
Foofer can advise as I think he runs a 26 down that way.

I would rather use a fast deep V center console for those kinds of trips.
I certainly would not want a fly bridge on a boat as small as 26 ft with a flat aft end like a Trojan. :o

That is just me...

Thanks for the replies. I don't think I should ever have much of a problem. I do pick my days for offshore very carefully. Never go out when over 3 footers are predicted. We do however almost always end up around 20 or so miles out. I just got to move up to a boat with more cabin space with still enough room in back for 3 or 4 people bottom fishing. That F26 is a whole lot of boat for 26 feet. My wife loves the cabin and private head. Thanks again..

Pick your days a 20 miles out , should be ok . the flatter bottom then a deep V is much nicer when bottom fishing .
