Sorry, didn't take pics of the process. In hindsight I should have. Varying opinions on whether it a compromise to the structural integrity of the boat. I took that into consideration and figured its a near 40 year old boat, with virtually peanuts invested...I could always turn it into a planter for the front lawn...lol.
I wanted that boat, my wife and family members wanted a walk thru, and were trying to convince me on another boat purchase.
So I bought the Trojan & delivered a walk thru....
On a serious note, I put alot of thought into doing it as well as possible. I tied into the horizontal transom stringer that runs along the scuppers, using oak, fiberglass cloth & resin, stainless hardware, 5200 sealant and HDPE marineboard liner & door. Three seasons running, and not single sign of stress, cracks to gell coat horizontally or vertically. Surely one can see the size of the custom platform I made as well....and that has not effected anything structurally either....tough old boat.
BTW...our marina & slip is in Long Point Bay, L. Erie....quite a jump from Toronto.
The link below shows some closer pics...

WOW!!!
Great pics. Thanks for sharing. Hope you don't mind, I've already downloaded a few pics. Great ideas of what I can do with mine. Love the hardtop look and have already been thinking of painting the hull that deep blue as well. Nice to see it actually the way mine might look.

Yeah, ya gotta look hard with a squint...see that tiny spec of an object way back yonder!

At first glance, I too, missed the boat!

He did a great job on that boat personalizing it to HIS needs and wants without defacing it! I just think he needs a bigger pick up to pull it!

The boat looks fantastic Paul!

Beautiful unmolested example. I think the transom door adds some nice functionality and doesn't detract at all from the original design concept. In fact quite the opposite, its an enhancement. Sweet boat!
