Hull problems

I bought a 1985 10 meter convertible in December 2010 on the deck and didn't catch this hull issue.

Here's the issue - I can tell that the hull on the starboard side below the galley somewhere leaks a tiny bit. When she's in the water, I can see water weeping in ever so slowly. There's a longitudinal bulkhead under the galley, and there's just a little arch in the bulkhead at the hull - through which the water weeps. So the source is outboard of that longitudinal bulkhead and I can't see it. At this point I am thinking it is a throughhull for a transducer which is not used anymore. I'll probably have to have it looked at professionally next spring when she's in the water, the have her hoisted out for repair(s).

I pulled the genny in the engine bay for repairs, so I cleaned up the bilge nice and spanking clean. There was water in it, also in the forward bilge.

Some bonehead who owned the boat prior to me drilled a few holes into the bilge to anchor a prior pump. I took the screw out and water came in from below. Now mind you, the boat is on the deck, so this water is leaking in from the forward bilge through some in-the-hull passageway.

The question here - does this surprise you guys? Am I in big trouble with this issue?

I have Marinetex epoxy to plug the leak, so should I plug that leak, or would I risk driving water elsewhere within the hull?

Thanks :?:

In order to best answer the question:

Are you dealing with a liner style hull or the later model?

This will have a bearing on helping you to properly diagnose the source of the water.

Read some of the posts regarding the Internationals and you will easily be able to determine what you have.
