Looks pretty simple and I was told by a friend that it works pretty good as well.
You do have to buy maps for your area...cheap current electronic maps.

The best free one I've found is put out by Jeppesen which also makes IFR & VFR aeronautical charts. It includes a basic database with the option of purchasing professional charts. The charts for my area are $38 compared to $150 for my Garmin charts for the same basic coverage.

It also gives you the option of loading weather overlays and provides all of the standard functions of a marine GPS but on a large platform like my iPad. It is called Plan2Nav.

I will check out iSailor to see how it compares.

That looks nice as well.
Also just found boating suite, this is a good one too, though not currently offered for Ipad.
