Posted: Fri Jan 06, 2012 10:16 am
Starting at 10:30 this morning.
The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) will lower a temporary tower onto the Ocean City inlet jetty. A USCG helicopter will pick up the tower at O.C. Municipal Airport and transport it to the inlet that separates Ocean City from Assateague Island. The helicopter will then lower the tower onto the inlet jetty.
Ocean City will broadcast the construction on a live webcam that is temporarily available for public view. The construction will begin Friday, Jan. 6 at approximately 10:30 a.m., weather permitting. The webcam feed can be viewed here.
