Um...yah...

"Hurth transmissions" ??
"you can walk around the engines" ??
"Engines have less than 350 hours since brand new" ??
"Price includes brand new sunbrella bimini, and brand new vee berth cushions. Both are worn" ??
"the nicest sportfish you will ever see under $12,000" ??

And sold for $3900 within a day of posting the ad??

Can you smell scam? You should. Someone just got screwed.

I smelled a rat too. The wording is stilted- no one talks like that-----"It is great to have a site as value minded as I am as a seller."----or----"Price is for a quick sale with a happy buyer and seller."----or----"It will sell for value very quickly."

Actually, tho it is much more polished than most of the Nigerian scam artists.

Did a google search on this guy's number - looks like he sells planes, trucks and condos in the Bahamas. Actually he lists all thingsthat have already "sold"....

The boat pictured is without any doubt a Trojan F28, it is identical to mine and the interior is exactly what mine had in it.

I would like to see the walk through transom gate as to how they made it, assuming it really has one.

all smoke and mirror

OK it's a scam, but what's the angle?

There are a bunch of 'brokers' out there who only list boats listed by other brokers... I think the idea might be if someone has it listed for $5K, you list it for $6K. If someone says they will buy from you sight unseen, you go buy it from the real seller and flip it over night.

It's like the banks... buy and sell stuff you don't have.

The interesting thing, and i am new to this forum, is I just purchased the boat from my step dad. Not a scam at all, and he was the one that listed the boat. He is not a broker, the boat is surprisingly enough, far from flawed, interesting enough, all the systems other than a slight issue with the manifolds on the port motor are in perfect working order. the starboard motor runs great. The boat has definately been taken care of by the prior owner, he was just "over it" so to speak. I am in the early stages of restoration, I will be getting it out of the water very soon, the selling price......$500 if you can believe that.
I am sure that I will be using this forum as a tool for issues as they arise, any input would be appreciated, Kyle.
