making progress engines are out.

removed the 2 old chrysler 318's today. the new long blocks will be in next week. time to clean and paint engine compartment.

i am about to pull my single 318 and order a long block if it unrebuildable. can you give any idea of what im in for. are you doing just motors? mine hasnt ran in years and is full of sea water, and was under rain water. i know im buying and rebuilding everything. i found a long block for 1000$

now is also a good time to add

sound insulation

additional engine room lights (ABYC approved)

replace old bilge hoses & vent hoses

add crash pump and fresh water flush fittings for engines, genny & HVAC

Maybe I missed it but why are you repowering after only 2 years?

yea its for marine. i almost bought one from a guy who bulit a car 318, but the cam has to be changed and i was told that marine blocks are upside down built so i stayed away from that deal.

these 318's are i think original(1979). who really knows for sure. only have had the boat for 7 months. they dont run very well. can only get around 2200 rms out of them. they're leaking water and oil very bad. time to change em out.
not sure i can advise on what your in for because im not sure what im in for.
on that check list mentioned is some things that will be replaced. and i am thinking about putting in the engine room lighting. was thinking about running small led's all around the lip of the hatches. i have these led's in red under the gunale on my 24' hydra-sports. they light up the floor very nice. and the red looks awesome. goes great with the vinyl wrap.

heck yea man. thanks for the honesty. im going to do led in my engine compartment cause i fish alot at night. and i know im gonna have problems, new motor or not. keep us posted how it goes for you. i need your help. im trying to do to many things at once on this f-25 but thats just how i am, one day she will float again
