You've got a single, right, I'd have to say clockwise...but I'd welcome any comments. Really the only time you'd have an engine that goes "backwards" (reverse rotation) is in a twin setup. As for heat, personally I'd avoid propane, it is heavier tha air, therefore seetles into the bilge waiting for a spark, oh yeah, it's also highly combustible. Unless you have sniffers, valves, lots of protection, I'd avoid propane on a vessel. IMO

Jeff if the starter is any good you can determine direction of rotation. A rear mounted starter has the same direction of rotation as the crank. Its pretty safe to assume that you have a standard rotation engine, but if you have doubts thats one way to check.
I'd stay away from bottled gas too. Diesel heaters are a lot safer. Remember though, anything with an open flame is going to be trouble if fumes are present. Maybe you can find a small generator and just go electric. You won't need a huge amount of BTU's to warm up an F-25 cabin.

My single is a right hand rotation engine. I believe all the single Trojans came that way. This is opposite of the automotive version of this engine.

i just solved the problem with heating by instaling base board heaters throughout the whole boat, not the best solution however untill it gets warmer i cant install the heat pump

Hey Jefflaw, do us a favor and fill out your profile one of these nights you are up. Let us know what boat you have the year and where you are. Thanks, one of the gang.

Electric is the way to go. I have a Honda 20000i from wisesales.com-$869-no tax-free delivery- that heats the cabin and runs a cruisair 5000btu ac.

I have all the information I think you need to know about me already posted Roy. If there is something specific that you would like to know then ask me. Then I can decide if I am comfortable sharing it with you.

I wasn't trying to be rude. Sorry if I came off that way. I am sure you can understand being wary of folks asking for personal info in a public forum.
I'm not really into huge signatures, but maybe I'll add some stuff if thats what everyone likes around here. I'm down to one boat and an inflatable these days, and and the boat is a state away waiting for thaw for me to pick it up. It would be mostly cars in my signature and I am not sure anyone cares about that. Thanks for the suggestion though.
