I need some advice from my fellow Trojan owners. A friend wants to give me an Insta-Matic gas electric refrigerator which came out of his travel trailer(camper). My question is...is it safe to put this type of refrigerator on a boat, I have a 1976 26 ft. Trojan Cruiser which still has the orginal ice box in it which the wife uses for dry storage of food stuff. Any and all advice would be appreciated!

Gas is heavier than air.
It will find the lowest part of the boat/bilge.
Gas goes BOOM !

Original fridge was the Norcold AC-DC model. You can buy a replacement but it will set you back over $900. Might be your best bet if you stay on the boat for overnights, etc. I agree with staying away from the gas model.
