Anyone ever replace the o-rings on fuel and water fills on an F32? One of mine is getting pretty rough looking, and it seems really stupid to replace the entire deck fitting for what is probably a $2.00 piece of rubber, but I have never been able to find an obvious dealer / distributor for them.

I also expect the fuel ones may be a special rubber for resistance to petroleum products.

Anyways, the boat if a '79 if anyone has any known sources. Tried to check out Beacon but don't see them.

Do we know who the manufacturer was? I came across this from Perko. Don't know if they would be the same size but you can also try other manufacturers or send an email to Perko, tech support may be able to tell you the size of the o-rings they use in thier product.

I'll send you some for free if you can get me the dash number. O-rings are made to a standard and have a three-digit dash number which defines the cross section diameter of the material and outside diameter of the o-ring.
Standard o-rings are commonly made of buna or nitrile which is compatible with gasoline & diesel. If you get into ethanol blends above 20% or biodiesel you will want to go to viton.

If you can't find the dash number, measure the outside diameter and cross section diameter of the existing one or just send the old o-ring and I'll replace them.

My company makes fuel pumps and we have thousands.

Wow! That was fast! Thought it would take at least until the morning to get responses. I don't think they are Perko (at least not the same look as the pics posted).. as they are original equipment from '79. I will take a pic tomorrow.

K9th.... is it likely that the number will be printed on the ring somewhere? I can try pulling one off I guess (haven't wanted to disturb them in the past in case I split it). Rough measures are 2" ID, 2.25" OD (meaning I guess 1/8" cross section) from measuring tape a while ago.

That's a very common size and I can send you some if you want. There will not be a number printed on the o-ring in all likelihood. The cross section and diameters you listed means its a -226. PM me your info & I'll send a few your way on Monday if you want.

If you want to get some locally make sure they are buna or nitrile and give them the dash number. If you want viton, they're more expensive but better quality. If you're measurements are right or very close, it should fit OK.

Man, appears my numbers were way off before, and my pictures today suck.... Gotta retry the pics when I have more time, better light, less beer in me, and can align the phone/camera and tape to eliminate the parallax issues.

Anywhere from 1 3/4 to 1 13/16 ID, with 1/8 cross section I think... but gotta re-check.

Looks pretty close to 1.75" ID so that would be a -224. If you want me send you some, PM me with the info.

Our old buddy Harbor Freight has several packages of O ring selections that are rassonable and can fit most anything you need. I keep both the metirc and US versions on the shelf in my shop, used them for diesel, hydraulic with perfect rsults. Most likely something to fit your needs in the box. There are many sizes sorted and seperated.

They are a good resource and very reasonably priced. Since this is basically a water seal and little or no pressure, about any material will work OK.

im scared of that place, just to cheap.

If you check most all of your tools and stuff is made in china, they just use an american name.

As for the o ring kits I have used many o rings on my backhoe's hydraulics and they are as good as any I have found elsewhere, NONE have ever failed me.
