When installing a new long block or rebuilding old one, I would recommend that a person check the below oil dripper below the top cam chain sproket. The longblocks I received did not have them but my old ones did and it seems to be a good idea as it directs oil on the timing chain. My new engines had about 50 hour on them and the timing chain slack was unacceptable to me and wear on the sprokets was noticable.

The pointed piece of tin that you see here without the timing sproket on. You can see it protruding below the top timing sproket and the camshaft retainer will only have 3 bolts holding it on. As you see here there is a tab that sticks into the 4th hole to facilitate correct allignment.

I wouold be sure you have one, your original engines can be cannablized for the part if not.
