Boat Polish

I'm getting ready to polish/clean the hull this weekend and was wondering what everyone is using as a polish or polish/cleaner wax for their boats.
My boat has been repainted in Imron including the black bootstripe and the specs say it never needs wax but I have always polished the sides before I launch.
I have used Starbrite boat polish with PTFE in the past but wondered what everyone else uses or finds works well.
I don't have any major dull spots and no chalking but just need to wipe it down to remove dust and some dirt an put a polish to it to make it look shiny and new again.

Did a car in Imron once, and I don't think you need to polish it - it can actaully scratch it.

I don't actually polish it with a buffer like some do. I just wipe the boat down to remove any dirt with a damp terry towel and then hand apply with a damp sponge a light coat of polish and then wipe it down. I've done this for the last six years and there are no scratches. Just makes the crud harder to stick to the boat when it is nice and smooth.

TAD, It is important to understand the differance between wax and polish. They are NOT the same thing. Polish contains an abrasive that "cuts" the gelcoat to remove oxidation. This is followed with wax whick provides the shine and UV protection. You should not polish emron unless you are in the restorative situation. Good luck.

Thanks for the input. I know that I am not supposed to use any product that contains caranuba as it can tend to yellow the Imron paint over time.
I see a lot of people with Imron painted cars are using compounds on their cars with good results.
Mine is basically in great shape but there are some areas on the flybridge that look less shiny than the sides because I have not touched them in six years.
The sides look awesome every year because I have used the polish with PTFE on them and I was just wondering if anyone else has input into cleaning products they use on their boats. Anyone with Imron paint job to chime in?

Boat wash and shammy off is all I use for my painted bridge surround.
