F32 propellors

I can't remember the size of the propellers on my F32. I have 318 Chrysler engines and I forget if the props where 16x15's or 15x16's. Can anyone help?

This is simply not true. My brother has 454's in his 1977 F32. And the props he has on are 21x23 with 1 1/4" shafts. His boat gets up and goes...runs great and has never had any drivetrain, cavitation or steering issues in the past 10 years he's owned it.rossjo wrote:Probably 16dx15p - as someone else said, they're typically marked on the prop hub, but sometimes its on the end ...
For ref, 17 is the largest dia you can put on an F32.
Based on what I see with my 4 blades they can fit..... only use will tell if the prop wash is too close to bottom. Jamie's buddies experience suggests not.gettaway wrote:21" diameter on an F32?

Stock strut and shaft only gives you 10.5" of clearance between the shaft C/L and the bottom of the boat, so he is almost touching the bottom of the boat.
10% minimum tip clearance is recommended, which is a 17"dia prop. An 18 is ony 8%, and a 21 is 0%.
