Hey all,
I am taking on water when I run, and can't figure out where!!....I think that the backing board is going back on the port side where the underwater exhaust goes down. .... The back bilge pump goes off for about 5-8 seconds and not just when Im getting up on plane. Any ideas?!?!.....I am getting water in the front bilge too just from sitting at the dock, but it doesn't look like lake water because its clean, and I know that I don't have a fresh water leak anywhere. Help :?:

Have you checked your shafts while running to see your drip rate at the packing? Could be time for new packing. The drip rate while the shaft is spinning is probably different than when the shafts aren't spinning. You may have already checked this though.

Exhaust is possible and don't forget to check that clamps are tight at the exhaust elbows or leaking mufflers and I believe you have a type of bellows in your application. Run engines and do a visual while in neutral and check for raw water and circ pumps leaking, all hoses, coolers etc. etc. If you don't see anything, start isolating sections of the bilge by what ever means needed to contain leaks so water stays in the area of the leak and doesn't flow somewhere else. How do you know it's not a fresh water leak? You say it's too clean to be lake water; it's either lake water, potable water or rain.
