1965 Trojan Sea Breeze Spashdown.............What a day

We were finally able to get her down to the marina. It was a very good day. However, I was stressed and after the fact, realized that I didn't need to be.
I can't believe it went so well. I asked my brother to come down and give me a hand and he was more than happy to come down. It was a great day to see the boat afloat again.
The modified trailer worked wonderfully. The center channel slide and the guides were perfect. They put me in the last slip at the end of the cove. It was a little difficult getting her in there but it was a breeze. I felt like a pro and the marina owner were impressed. They even commented that they wouldn't have attempted it with an inboard. I swelled her keelson for a week before taking her down. Im glad I did. Since splashdown, the pump has only come on two or three times a day that I can tell. I'll need to get a buzzer to let me know it's on. Bottom line is that she's holding her own. Next weekend we'll actually take her out for a shakedown cruise.
I am extremely excited and can't wait to spend the summer on her and remembering my younger years when Gramps was at the helm...

Very nice, thanks for sharing the story and pics! BTW; it looks like a little creek you're sitting in. Skinny water?

Ya, It is a weeeeee bit narrow there but plenty deep. The lake is not yet up to summer pool. We have another seven feet to go. The funny thing here is that last year, no one was able to put in because of too much rain and the parking lot was flooded till the end of June. This year it's the exact oposite. NOT ENOUGH WATER....GO FIGURE....Once it's up to Summer Pool, it will be much nicer back in that nook. I have the perfect view for watching the inexperienced boaters put in and take out. I think this year I'm going to make signs to hold up to give everyone scores and maybe even a couple of smart ass remarks for those who shouldn't even own a trailer.... Heck, yesterday, we watched one couple drag their outdrive all the way up the ramp and we also helped an older couple (who probably had no business owning a jetski) put it back on the trailer after they drove right out from under it while trying to put it in. I get a kick out of just sitting and watching....

Wow - you say you have another seven feet to go. How close is that road in the one shot there? With no guard rail looks like someone could be swimming with you pretty easily.
I love to watch people at the ramp also - great fun and I like your idea of a scoring system. Seen way too many crazy to even start.

@k9th
That is actually the boat ramp and just above that there is limited trailer parking. Once the water comes up it won't be so skinny back there. But it is one of the best spots to watch the crazies and I don't have to worry about any wakes what so ever.
