F36 Cockpit canvas leaks at flybridge ladder

Looking for a water tight solution to keeping rain out of the cockpit. The small openings for the flybridge ladder allow rain in.

I have very nice, newer canvas, throughout but with this built in leak.

Any ideas?

Perhaps a tighter opening with a draw string or elastic . I would talk with a canvas/top shop

thanks for the welcoming guys. I just picked up an F36 last Friday, a big step up from my Cruisers 266 w/ single engine.

I will try our canvas guy for ideas. Seams basic, should have asked PO.

I will get a few pics. I believe this is common, but since I have a teak cockpit, I am not ready to let the rain flow while I am away.

Shes a 1974.....a fellow member on this site I bought from.

your right, I did not get the pics. I will in next day or so.

Canvas shop will look at it end of this week.... but I have some seams that need more attention.

here is best pics I could find... the canvas hangin down is what covers the ladder transition. Will get better ones this week.

You need to have a soft rubber seal stitched to the canvas where it goes around the rail... which will work for all but heavy downpours providing that it is the highpoint of the aft roofing.
Your canvas guy should know what to use.....

We use heavy duty Velcro to go around tubing on the T-Topless Spray-Shields we manufacture. Seals them nicely.

A good canvas shop can add these easily ...
