would this work on my 1979 f26 ?

Bronze propeller, nibral alloy & bronze shaft. Propeller is 17 X 17 right hand 3 blade. Michigan Wheel manufacturer. Very good condition with no nicks or dents. Shaft is 1-1/4 inches diameter by 72 inches long with tapered end & keyway slots machined each end plus one bronze nut. New replacement price for the prop would be $916 so this package is a bargain.

normally f26 f25 and f27 have either a 14X9 or 14X10... 17x17 I think is WAY too big (I dont think it will actually fit)... and you will forcing the engine too much. I think. Let some other guys here confirm.

Most F-26's also have a 1" shaft diameter

Your shaft now is 1 inch , your gear is a 1 to 1 most likly so you could not turn that wheel as the post above said . to make it work you would need a reduction gear trans a new shaft log and strut for the shaft , and the wheel would not clear with out major work . and bronze shafts are a lot weaker then SS .

so is it a bargain ? not if you can't use it .
