This may be a simple question but I am not sure. I need to replace the temp sender on my crusader 270. I am not sure which one to order. When it says dual does that mean number engines, number of gauges or helms?

Thank

I would believe it means number of gauges.

Dual refers to the number of gauges connected to the sender. Standard means the sender is grounded to the engine block directly. Floating means the sender has a ground wire that needs to be connected to a ground.

Before ordering a replacement sender, measure the sender that is currently in the engine. Some senders are longer than others, and you will want to make sure the replacement sender is the same length or shorter than your current sender. I learned this the hard way.

Dual mean dual stations. You'll have a sender gauge on lower helm and one up on bridge. If you have no bridge, it's a single unit...

Are senders matched to the gauge? I have crusader 270s (350cu in), do I have to use a crusader oem part or can I go to Autozone or NAPA and get a sender for the same year and model engine?

What year Crusaders? For a dual sending unit, the part number from Crusader is 727046 and the single unit number from Crusader is CRU-R020003.
The dual is about $23.00 list.

I sent you a PM...

1983 model, single sender. I have found them online but was hoping I could get one local if a standard 350 cu in one would work and save shipping too. The cost to have just one sent is half the price of the sender.

Go with the marine unit from Crusader. Otherwise, you're asking for headaches...just my .02 cents.
