Twin 440 owners - what's your sweet spot?

I understand there are lots of variables as far as mileage, etc. goes. However, I'm looking to get an idea of the range you twin 440 owners are experiencing as far as your relative cruising speeds/rpms and where you feel your engines run the best. This may or may not be the most economical speed.

Based on the relatively limited running time I've had on Hart's Desire, my sense is that the engines (at least in their present condition) are running best around 3000 rpm +/- 100 rpm. I had an experienced friend on board two weekends ago, and he thought they "sounded" best at about 3200 rpm.

Any general thoughts?

I ran a set in a 38 pacemaker and 3000 was the sweet spot we ran at .

That's probably pretty close. I am running 360's, and sweet spot is around 3000-3200 RPM. The boat is well up on plane, and just before the secondaries open up.
