Welcome aboard. There have been recent threads on that very topic. I'm sure some of the guys will pitch in soon. More info about the boat and what it currently has would help.

Welcome to the forum

what model is it ? What would be good for 10 meter express would be a poor choice for a 14 meter fly bridge .

Height in the engine room may be a consideration, as will service availability in the location you will be actively boating in.

Cummins and Yanmar seem to be the most popular replacements.

I have the Yanmar 6LP in my 10 meter International express cruiser(not mid cabin)

The Yanmars are efficient, powerful, quiet and reliable.

The boat performs nothing like it did before, I would never own a gas boat in this size.

I see you updated your info , both Yanmar and cummins B , engines are good choices , ( if there is room for cummins ) Yanmars are more compact so maybe a easier fit .

If your send over seas I would have the work done there , due to warranty issues

i agree with prowlerfish. get the engine work done over in europe so that the service/support will be local. are the diesel engines in europe more efficient and clean than here in the states? just curious.

I have heard, but am unable to confirm in fact that they are reported to bathe regularly.

RWS ,Same on you :D

INGO Spence your in Europe I would also look at Volvo and Nanni diesels also But Cummins and Yanmara are a good choice for over there also

Aaron . It would be hard to burn any cleaner then the tier 3 and 4 spec diesels over here , The engines sold over there are about the same as over here Cat , Cummins Yanmar Volvo are world wide . But buy here could be warranty issue over there .

i do think it's better warranty wise that the repower is done in europe. i was just curious to the diesels from the us and europe, but, since the new common rail diesels burn cleaner w/more power, sounds like it's a non issue no matter where you buy them. thanks for checking up on us earlier this evening too!!

all your comments are great and welcomed..I am aware of names like Cummings, Yanmar, Volvo etc... I was hoping for exact model numbers of the mentioned engines..based on the model of the boat .
Ofcourse they sell diesels in Europe, the only problem is that they are more than twice as expensive as in the states.

Are you planing on re powering here ? or just buying the engines here ? New or used ? ( models have changed )
