Prop shaft

Post by Agitator »

Guys,
I've got a 1971 F26.
I think I bent the prop shaft when I was pulling the V-drive. (I dropped the assembly!) Is there a place I can buy another or is having this one straightened the best thinig to do?
Thanks

Pretty tough to bend a shaft thats only supported by the shaft log. If the shaft is otherwise in sound condition, I would remove it and have it checked for straightness. If it is found to be bent, they can usually striaghten it for less than buying a new shaft. Start with your local prop shop... some also do shaft work and if they don't, most will direct you to someone that can.
