Our F36 is on the hard and wrapped up for the winter. Can someone with access to theirs measure the aft deck?

Next, anyone bought teak and rubber stripped 3/4 decking and had a good experience?

I might be looking at putting in rigid water tanks next season (I put in flexible tanks and have had to replace 2 already. When the boat was new, it had aft fuel tanks (long since removed) but I was thinking of installing water tanks where the fuel tanks used to sit. Only problem is that to do so, the aft decking has to come up.

I'm certain that pulling up the aft deck will distroy it so the dimensions are to help me with estimating the project cost before I get too crazy.

what about the water tanks just forward of the front engine bulkhead? Thats where mine are /

Paul, I took those tanks out 2yrs ago in my quest to move more weight aft. I constantly had water sitting on the edges of the front deck. I figured the problem was that the aft fuel tanks were removed and by the time we load it up with everything (we basically live on board 3+ days a week all summer), it pitches forward at rest. In the area where the water tanks were, I mounted a larger waste tank in a new cradle and moved the vacuflush system to that area of the bilge was well.

Well, the Plastimo tanks worked to fix the water on the bow issue, but I've went through two of them on the port side. They lie between the outer stringer and the hull in a balistic nylon bag. The bag is secured at the corners with SS hooks that are secured to the deck supports and engine bulkhead wall. There is never any abrasion on the bag, but the inner liner had burst twice in a forward corner. The Plastimo people are great about it and have replaced them, but soon I fear they will not and at $280 a liner, I just don't want to mess with it any more.

My water tanks went out right after I bought mine. I used the same mounts (had to modify them a little) but purchased two 55gal food grade plastic barrel's and installed them. Have had no problem with them in 2 years use. I will be at my boat sat. and can measure my deck at that time if no one else here can do it sooner.

Thats a really good suggestion with the food grade barrels there Allen. If anyone is looking for some there is always some at larger hospitals. If you can get one that had something like apple juice concentrate in it they are very easy to clean out and reuse. A little 5% bleach solution in them for a few days and they are good to go.

I can see where with slight mods they would fit well in the aft tank cradles. Full you would get almost a half ton of ballast out of them.

Did you get the measurements you needed? I will be at the boat tomorrow am .

7'6" from door area to the stern and 10'6" wide ( widest point ). Mine having a glass floor has a inner liner so if yours has none ,I would add about 2" door area to stern and 8-10" on the width .

I will be back there tomorrow so I would be glad to measure anything else needed
