What's this inverter worth?

A friend of mine wants to sell this, it's in my possession here in Minnesota and he is in Florida. He has asked me to put it on EBay and sell it. He and I are not sure what to ask for, any thoughts?
It is a 3000 watt Trace inverter, comes with remote panel, instruction manual and a lot of heavy cable!

Places listing used ones on-line for $800. Whether they are selling or not I don't know. It is the same as a Xantrex unit.

I think I will just start at $500 and see if I get any action. Shipping might be a little high though, it's heavy.
