How do I remove the teak cockpit step?

I have only 1 step on my 10M, and it looks like it should slide/pop out so I can swap it to the other side. Can't get it to come out. Do I have to unscrew the mounts?
Thanks,
BB

My step slides up to pop out and slides down to lock into place.

On mine there have apparently been too many wide bodies stepping on it. There is a 1/4" bolt welded into the step and the head of that bolt goes into the keyhole slide mounted on the boat. If that bolt gets a little bent (as mine did) you may have to hammer it up out of the slot. Of course the danger is that you could break the bolt off, so proceed carefully.

Thanks for the tip! It looked like it should lift and pop out, but it wouldn't. I'll look for signs of the bolt being bent.

any idea on how to get my 2013 forum support icon to show? I donated last week.
