A New season and a New boat!

Hey Guys
It's been a while and although it's still not feeling quite like summer up here in the midwest, it is time to get the boat back in the water! After wrenching on my first 73 Trojan for the last two summers, we have decided to upgrade to a 1980 F30 Sedan. Should have it on the big pond in about 10 days if it checks out on the sea trial and survey.

My old boat had the 318's and this one had the T-228's. I think those are the 305's, but can someone confirm that for me? After looking at 10-12 boats this weekend, this is the cleanest most well kept boat we found. Any Advice on buying, things I should check on the sea trial, or check in general on this boat would be greatly appreciated! If you have this boat or engine, let me know how you like it and any thing I should be on the lookout for. Thanks!

Don't know if this holds true for all vintages but all around the perimeter of the bridge is a base. This is where the bridge is fastened down to the cabin top. When this base fails, the bridge will actually sag over the edges. Most noticable over the port and starboard top window frames. The arch is a nice touch. Good luck, hope all goes well.

Thanks guys. Have not sold the Rick-a-shey yet. But I do have a buddy that sounds interested. He watched the last two years while we update and replaced so many parts. But it is still for sale on Minneapolis Craigslist. Search "Trojan" $7500 or b/o

Any news? Boat looks like it sitting in one of the marinas in Inver Grove Heights. Where do you boat? We are down in RedWing on the Miss at Colvill Park at Ole Miss Marina. See you on the river!

We will go take a final look at it tomorrow and try to strike a deal. Take a sea trial and have survey done. After that it will be transported to Algoma, on Lake michigan. Unless you want to make a trip to Chicago with us.

We haven't settled on a price yet and the transportation of this is starting to be a real pain in the you know what. We might keep looking out on the lake to make it easier. Can spend more on the boat it self if we don't have to pay to have it transported. Unless anyone knows of a great transportation guy.

Or if you know of a nice trojan I should look at on or around lake Michigan.

There is a nice 1977?? F32 @ Captain Jims in Kenosha - really nice

There is a nice 1978 F36 for $25k at Skipper Buds in Winthrop Harbor and I recall they have an F32 but it was a bit pricey and from late 80s

There is a 1978 F32 Express in Winthrop Harbor for $10k. I think this boat is a bit rough as it was a charter boat - I can see it needs $2k in canvas.

And if you are really in a bind, I may entertain offers on my 78 F30 Flybridge Express

By the way there is a 79 F Sportfish for sale at Larsen Marine in Waukegan.

Boat appears to be in great shape but seller has been asking $19k for over a year. I think $19k is a bit high

Craigslist and the marina websites such as larsenmarince.com, etc.
