air conditioning

I have air conditioning on the boat and the register is right near the cabin console and another register right behind it facing the dining area.
The air is cold but unless you let it run for a long - long time it does not really cool.
I thought air conditioners sucked air in and exhausted the warm air outside?
can I do something here with mine?

Your system uses water insted of air to cool the refrigerant . you should see water pumping out side the hull . Most likely on the starboard side . Check the flow . You can check the temp to see how much of a temp drop there is from the air inlet to the outlet . Should be 10-15 degrees . If water flow is good and you don't have a good temp drop , then call a MARINE A/C pro . unless you know refrigerant systems its best left to someone that is trained

Not in a marine unit. Heat is dissipated through the condensor by the raw water going through it.

It does take a while to bring the temp of a compartment down. Many factors/variables involved that determine just how fast a compartment drops by one degree but it is not an instantaneous process.

The air is cold-nice and cold but just used to quicker air changes.
I will have to think of something in the meantime.
Like some exhaust fan-you know like when you get in your car and it is hotter than heck and you open the windows will driving to suck out the hot air.

I know that part and the water does come out-up front right side but was just thinking that there was some sort of hot air exhaust somewhere.
I guess not.

Since my A/C has only one vent facing the dinette as well, a little trick that I use to get my entire cabin cool is to have a fan under the dinette table blowing up towards the ceiling. If I don't do this, I end up with my ankles freezing and my head sweating.

Don't usually find dust out in the middle of a lake

true about dust in middle of lake, however, you used materials that shed lint (dust) according to some dust in a house is mostly sloughed skin. Marine AC instructions still call for a filter. Mine has no filter and definitely needs a good cleaning including the fan blades.

Maybe not so much conventional house dust, but residue from smoke, tree and grass pollen, spiderwebs, etc all get in there.

+++ Commis in addition we did not mention the absolute worst offender, pets on board. They love to lay where the air moves and ergo hair in to wet evaporator and no air out.
