We've seen boats listed by "Randy" before. It always smells like a scam to me but I could be wrong. Does anyone know somebody that has actually purchased a boat from "Randy". His telephone number is a Pennsylvania area code. I would be worried my $149 Paypal deposit would evaporate into thin air and so would "Randy", but I'm paid to be cynical. 8)

I would have to make a trip to Va to check it out if I was thinking about biding on it or at least contact someone at the mariner who could provide some information about the boat and the seller. Now if anyone is interested in bidding I would be glad to take a ride up to Va to check it out for them. I have been wanting to step inside a 30 or bigger boat to check out the layouts.

That's the problem. It states in the ad several times that the boat is not available for viewing. That's part of why I think its a scam.

Imagine showing up to your marina to find someone on your boat

they look at you and reply: what do you mean "your" boat, I just bought this from Randy!

I'm calling scam, and furthermore, no one should ever buy a boat without inspecting it

Ok did not see Prowlerfish post before mine, I retract the scam part, but still why would anyone buy a boat they cannot see first

So that was your Clean Machine?? Motors look rough, was that the power that was in it when you sold it? I'm sure it looked better when you owned it!

I didn't see the part about not showing! Still if I was biding I would still like to stand on the dock to check it out if possible. May not tell me much but it would make me feel better. Now knowing a member on here once owned her then maybe a lot of questions could be answered at least to some degree.

Yes it looked better when I sold it 9 or 10 years ago . But it looked worse when I first got .It was sitting on shore .1 engine out the other had not ran in 2 years . I lot of the wood work painted black . I put a lot of work in her .

That seems to be the norm on donated boats ( just look at boat Angel ) .Must be a lible thing . When I spoke to Randy and told him who I was and knew where the boat was , He had no proplem with me checking it out . He strikes me as a good guy.

I would love to see someone get this and fix it up again . Its sad to something you put so much into looking like this .

Of all the boats I have owned this was my favorite .

some info 351 Fords 1 to 1 inboard ( not I/O as stated ) Custom made single fuel tank ( 160 gal) ac/ dc fridge .

Any questions ask .

That boat looks really rough. Must make you very sad, Paul.

Very odd about not being able to look at it.

Yes it is sad . As far as not looking at that seems to be the norm on a donated boat . I do see this boat all the time but I have not been aboard in years . However the seller has given me the ok to go aboard and check it out .

I have that package in the Nautique (351w 1:1 Velvet). Reliable and easy to work on/obtain parts for. Lots of power too. Were the ones in question the Merc 233 variety? I have the Commander marinization pkg.

The starboard is a merc 233 (rev rotation ) , The port is a marine power 250hp . both have the marine power type water pump ( bolted to the crank ) the older merc 233 always put out more power then the newer Marine Power 250 , and honestly you can't tell the difference between the 2 looking at them since the both have the same pumps and both have aftermarket manifolds and risers .
