1968 SeaVoyager 120/12V Transformer

Post by tnsg45 »

Does anyone know exactly what the 120/12V transformer is for and where it should be hooked up to? I'm pretty sure it's to run the 12V system from shore power, but the transformer is putting out 12VAC. Think the black box on top is a rectifier that is shot..... am I anywhere in the ball park?

I think the transfer may be for your inside cabin lights thay work on 12volts thay dont care if its AC or DC as long as its 12Volts dont know of anything else that works 12volt AC on a boat

for got to mention that there would also have to be a relay to keep the ACand DC apart to prevent a short the the relay would actavate when you plug in your dock side cord
