Anyone with any idea in liner feet how much product (vinyl or wallpaper) it will take to completely redo the inside of an F32, without doing the doors, drawers and cabinets. Talking wall covering only. Got a really good price on some vinyl starting on Thursday, but can't get to boat until Monday.

I can measure my boat tomorrow if you tell me exactly what areas you want measured. I recovered the vee berth area. It took a 54" wide piece to cover the panel above the shelf and another 54" piece to cover the panel below the shelf on each side of the vee berth. The material I used was 54" wide and I do not remember how long each piece was. Let me know and I would be happy to measure it since I will be there anyway.

Thanks, we are going to replace the whole interior, will not do doors, drawers, and side panels for sliding doors. All other teak has already been covered. It's dated, faded and time to go. And with all the rain and wind we seam to be getting up here, this may be a project to start now instead of mid September.

What's not to like about wood in a boat?


You need to move your boat further North.... We have hardly had any rain on Georgian Bay compared to down on Lake Ontario, except that one day last week Friday I think.

Yup! What you see as wood walls is dirty dreary wall covering! Having see yours! Next step show wife!

I'm with Ready, the wood in an F-32 is one of my favorite features, our new to us Silverton had vinyl wall covering and it is my least favorite things, my plan is to slowly replace panels with teak ply...

Clean the teak with Teka two part cleaner and varnish it. the 30+ years of teak oil makes SOME boats look dark, old and dirty, when you clean it, you'll be amazed!

OK! Wood does look good. Any idea how much work I have ahead of me if I want a total restore.

Well, depends on how it looks now , but there are 5 sections of the boat, salon, galley, head , dinette and forward cabin, depending on whether the screws were plugged or not, if not you can remove almost every valance panel and take home along with doors and drawers , you can do the boat in sections as to not overwhelm you in the project and to still use the boat, I personally think its worth the work

I agree. As someone who owns a boat without a lot of cabin wood, I'm jealous. I'm doing what I can to add it but couldn't imagine covering or removing any!

Keep in mind if you need to sand any plywood, it may have a very thin veneer. Be very careful when sanding that you don't burn through the face veneer.

Still working on mine, but even adding more teak!
