Is this a solo Trojan boat, or did they make it with another manufacturer? Seems totally different than there usual build. Beautiful boat, with some impressive detail.

It looks like a Hatteras flush deck, listing states Cummins 6BT photo of engine says 903 a V-8, the electronics are as old as the boat but she's a nice looking yacht

i love this yacht. i've watched in on yachtworld for quite some time. some history on her. at the time this was built, it was the largest vessel in the trojan lineup. known as the 'f-54 deckhouse salon motor yacht', i first laid eyes on her at the 1976 annapolis boat show. i loved how the boat was powered by big diesel engines with v-drives. never saw a boat this big, at that time, with the engine room all the way in the back of the boat. she was one of the largest fiberglass hulls around, second only to the hatteras 70' flush deck motor yacht that made it's debut in 1972. (here is a 1974 model--can you tell that jack hargrave designed her?) http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/1974/Ha ... f2R29KwHoI

the 54 deckhouse motor yacht, if memory serves, was produced in elkton, md and had a very limited run. a true classic motor yacht with classic lines.

It is a beautiful ship indeed. A little out of my price point though.

This Trojan started out as a 53 with a wood hull and factory covered with fiberglass. The 54 was all fiberglass was built to compete with the very popular Hatteras 53. the 53 and the 54 look identical in every way. They were built in the Canadian plant and in fact when they closed the plant this model was the last boat the finished. I'm not sure if the MD plant took over production but because of the years built, I doubt it. The 54's seem to hang in there but the 53's aren't fairing to well, it seems like the 53's have a history of rotting from the inside out.

ahhhh that would explain the MASSIVE hull i saw in march 1972 at the shepherd plant when the hull of BUBALA3 was pulled from the mold. do you know if the wood/glass 53 had her engines in the aft portion like the glass 54? or, did the 53 have her engines midship, port/starboard with center companionway like the hatteras? i still think, all these years later (decades actually) the f-54 deckhouse salon motor yacht is one of the prettiest yachts out there. classic in every way, even by todays standards.
