I have a '77 tri cabin with twin 360s. There is no fuel from the stbd fuel Pump. Can an automobile fuel pump replacee this fuel pump?
Is there anything else that would cause the lack of gas other than an empty gas tank?

NO you need a marine pump . You could have a stuck check valve at the fuel thank , a broken pick up tube , plugged filter / water separator and air leak in the line are a few causes

If I recall, you purchased recently. Have you had both running yet? If not, also consider that if the engine hasn't run in some time from being in storage for a while for example, this is common especially with some Mopars I find. You may simply need to prime the fuel system.

Hi Big D,
Yes.....its been a while since the engines were run by the previous owner...the engines did turn over and ran for a couple of minutes before I purchased it but the gas tanks were on empty. I am currently out of town but will be in town within the week and will try priming the engines.
Will let you know how it works out........thanks.....Ken

Do you have a fuel manifold set-up where you can shut off one tank (or more) and draw from the same tank as the engine which is running? This will eliminate a bad fuel pump...
