We want to renew the screens in the salon windows in our 79 tri. Anyone have experience in how to remove these? I removed the screws on the metal strips adjacent to the screens, but im afraid the force that seems to be required to pry off those pieces will either bend them or break the adjacent window. Aditionally, what procedure is used to remove the sliding windows for cleaning? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks,

My wife just did this on our 79 tricabin...pullled out the old screen and slipped in the new stuff between the frames...kinda like a sandwich...be careful and expect to break a few of the frames...they are just plastic. She glued them back together, spraypainted them and they look like new.
As to how to take out the sliders...I can't help you there.

Hi Mark,
Kindly disregard my previous advice. I read your post incorrectly and thought you were refering to the port windows, at the rear. We have not yey done the salon screens, so I don't really have any valid input for you on them. Sorry for the misdirection

if memory serves (from our 72 tri cabin)
i believe the screen frames in the salon have a spring top and bottom that keeps them in place. to remove, slide the screen frame away from the window, grasp both sides and push up to release the screen frame from the window frame. i know my 82 tri has that feature, but now sure about the 79.
