Shift Cable for 1983 10 Meter
I snapped the port side shift cable over the weekend. Fortunately it came to my attention in the middle of the lake that I was stuck in forward not while docking. None the less I need to get a new one ordered. Does anyone have a part number and length or do I have to pull it out of the boat in order to figure that out? Our boat is a 1983 10 meter with 454's.

Look on the cable jacket. It will have numbers, like 40BC, 43C, etc...then look it up here;

All it says on the side of the cable is 18ft. Hoping they are fairly standard and I can put my ends on a new cable tomorrow.

It should be a type 33, at least it is on my newer Int'l.

It was a Type 33C Cable 18ft long. Since replacing the port side I've realized how stiff the starboard side is and am going to replace that this weekend as well. Nothing would suck more than coming into dock and getting stuck in gear. I found the cable online for $30 but wanted it quick so I paid the local marina $65 for it.
