So took floor off to replace rotted frame wood and floor it self is ok but old and lot of holes to fill after screws being taken out. Floor was basic 1/4 inch plywood with what looks like 1/4 teak sheeting I guess glued to it. Decided to replace florring with marine plywood but not sure what to cover it with . Not sure want to go with wood , maybe vynel or something similar . Any ideas with pictures what others have done would be greatly appreciated

plans here are to use non skid paint shot in. I'm looking for the no up keep method. Theres enough on a boat to maintain as it is . I did price out the non skid sheetgoods but it got pretty pricey and even moreso when purchasing the special adhesive it call for . wood is awesome but I don't have the time to up keep that much wood. looking good , keep the pics coming

Agree with you about upkeep and interesting suggestion .. was thinking like vinyl that one would use in kitchen or similar with wood pattern but not sure how that would hold up

I was pricing out marine grade non skid vinyl. however if you are leaning towards reg. in home sheetgoods I can see it being a serious slip issue . that being said if you still head down that road I would suggest a fiberfloor vinyl, these were designed to install atop of existing sheetgoods. They do not require glue so in your case would be a plus once its lived out its life its just a matter of rolling up the old and installing a new. no scraping,sanding old adhesive off.
Another in home product that is a lot stronger and can take a lot more abuse is a product called allure, these are vinyl faced planks that adhere to one another.used in kitch/bathrooms. with this product your only buying what you need opposed to sheetgoods that come in 12ft widths. the allure is by far a lot tougher and does not require gluedown installations. Home depot carrys a lot of this floor. they always drop numbers on this product when changing a lineup or have been stuck with a special order that the customer has returned what he didn't use.easy to work with and a forgiving floor

My 26 has a factory fiberglass floor with the forward section having a hatch over the engine and solid floor on either side of it. It looks great and is easy to clean however the solid floors on either side make it very difficult to service any thing beneath them. In my case, its a fresh water and hot water tank on one side and a black water tank on the other. You have to be a contortionist to reach under there thru the engine hatch.

Do yourself a favor and install access panels the same size as the engine hatch on both sides of the engine hatch. This way you can easily access every thing under the floors.

Hey Paul definitely making access panels on either side of engine hatch . Already made opening for either side of engine . Maybe one above gas tank in case have to take it out .

I am in Mississauga Ontario so hopefully home depots here have them . Will take a look tomorrow see what they have and how much .

I replaced mine about 18yrs ago, with 1/2" marine plywood, sealed with epoxy and the top covered with a layer of glass ( I tinted the resin white so if I chipped the paint it wouldn't be as noticeable). I painted it with Awlgrip with a non-skid texture. It's held up really well over the years, and very easy to maintain. I had to re-frame mine, and did it so I have three hatches across the front of the deck which makes maintenance a breeze. I also made a another larger hatch so if I ever have to remove the fuel tank, it comes up by just removing some screws. Inside of that hatch is my rudder access hatch which lifts up like the original. If you do use marine plywood make sure that you seal the edges to prevent it from absorbing water.
