50 HOUR RUN TIME

Post by gettaway »

Hi all,

we are still boating in So Cal, last night we did a bay cruise with with some work associates and I hit the 50 hour run time mark on Silver Lining, looking back over the last 8 months, it was a busy summer but I kind felt like we didnt get enough use out of the boat because of a busy work and home life, but I think 50 hours of run time is pretty darn good, especially when you consider there is probably 5 hours of boat time for every hour of run time.. its been a good year ! :D

just checked my hour meters on ENTERPRISE, and, since getting the barnacles off in july, i have run her once, maybe twice a week. yesterday i took her out for her 'fuel stabilizer' run after putting roughly 20 gallons in to get the e-zorb//store n start mix. heading out from a nice lunch at steel fish cafe my friend jerry and i ran her up to 3100rpm and she settled in at a nice 21mph. flat calm and no wind, ENTERPRISE really performed like a champ. so, all tally hour wise, about 35. i'm pleased at that. i will probably run her until the first week of november, then start the layup  process. but, i've been staying onboard roughly 2-3 nights a week for the last month. maccabee hates it, but i've gotten some of the best sleep in MONTHS.

and i'm having an absolute blast. i think it took a few of you guys to actually give me the positive reinforcement. when i spend the nights on land now, i do not sleep as well. go figure. i'm going to be bummed for the next 4 days as i'm flying a 4 day trip fri-mon. i'll miss her terribly. at least there is still some good weather ahead. this is the best time of the year to go boating in the upper bay. not a lot of traffic on the water, and the weather is actually not too bad.

Hi All

I had Silver lining out this past Sunday for a short cruise and a fuel dock visit, had a friend pass by who took a few photos of the boat underway.

We had run 350 miles on the F32 this Summer in Georgian Bay without any long trips.... not sure of the hours as my logbook is not with me in Florida. Just moochin' around from anchorage to anchorage with no special journey's all Summer.

We Canadians so often take our Georgian Bay cruising grounds for granted and we shouldn't...... they are among the best in the world!
I meet many loopers on the water (boaters doing the Great loop... up east coast ICW, through Great lakes down the rivers, (Miss Tenn Ohio Tom Bigbee) and the Gulf coast ICW who all say Georgian Bay is the highlight of their travels.

I try my best to encourage people to come and see it as often as I can...... thanks for comments on the F32.... we do find her special.
