Welcome aboard. The International crew can probably chime in with more info but today's generation units use solenoid valves to allow the water to go through. I suspect your valve has a ruptured diaphram or a plunger that is stuck open. Age plays a part here but a lot of these fail due to improper winterizing if you're in an area where winterizing is a requirement.

Yes, had the same problem. Do yourself a favor and install a shutoff valve in the line going up to the washers. Remove the trash can in the galley and you'll see the line. As you now know, there's no way to stop it short of turning off the pump.
The problem is the solenoid which is located behind the helm. It'll be on the Stb side kind of up high. If your throttle controls were removed you would see it. Not saying to remove those but a point of reference. My VHF is mounted just below and when I remove that I'm looking right at it. It's brass/black and you'll see the clear washer lines going in/out.
I took mine apart and cleaned/lubed the little piston and it's worked fine ever since. Did you remember to winterize the washer lines by spaying the nozzles? If not, the solenoid might be broken from the cold. The shut off valve is easily had at Lowes, I'm sure I posted the part number here before. Just cut the hard line and pop on, 5 min job.

I have the 12M Express and I found my solenoid in the arch on the starboard side. Does anyone have a part number for this? I don't think it was winterized one year, it leaks after the solenoid.
The tubing goes up thru the windshield frame and is cut off at the stbd wiper. The sprayers were removed and were closed up with silicone. Anyone have a link to new ones? Is there a T fitting I need too to get the water to flow to the port windshield?
Thanks.

I have a 1981 10 Meter International. The supply for my washers starts on the Starboard side of the boat and runs behind the medicine cabinet in the Head. I have an access panel in the ceiling at the base of the stairs to access the lines for the horns and the washer line can also be seen there. The solenoid is behind the helm, I have a large access panel on the starboard side of the boat between the helm and the hull. I do not think it is factory, but may be.

keep in mind the hardware locations will be different between mid cabin models and the express, as well as sedans, flybridges and the larger models too.
