So I have had a very tiny oil leak that I have been working to find the source. I am closer today but am looking for some thoughts. I will try to explain. I have a 1976 Chrysler 318 reverse rotation. On the bell housing there is a silver triangle that I believe is used for timing of the engine it is visible in the hole where you can see the flywheel. This triangle is riveted on the underside of the bell housing. A small amount of oil is coming down this triangle from underneath the bell housing. Not from the outside. The flywheel is then blowing it around the compartment. Is there something on the inside of the bell housing near the top of the engine that would leak? I don't think it is the rear seal as the oil is not down inside the bell housing.

Thanks,

John

If you don't think its the rear main seal , Check the back of the intake manifold

There are two oil galley plugs, one on either side of the rear cam plug which is a large freeze type plug that seals the rear of the cam galley where the oil from the pump is for a total of three things that are above the rear main--- Mike
