Trannys Missing?
First of hello to everyone and thanks in advanced , I recently inherited a a 75 f30 "Model 302" Express??? it was my grandfathers who passed away and he originally bought in new and over the years it was neglected. After having it delivered to my house i did a check over on it to realized that both engines were toast( 351w) and that the trannys were no where to be found lol, so now the question i will be repowering this with chevy 350's and i know the 71c is the 1:1 is that going to be the best replacement for this boat or will the 1.5:1 be better and if so why thanks alot guys.

Re: Trannys Missing?
The engines are bolted down in the engine room, and the gears are not?
Is this correct?

I would stay with the 1 to 1 trans . to go with a 1.5 you would need to change to a larger shaft and prop . Also when going to a larger prop , clearance could be a issue . Keep it simple stay with the 1 to 1 . BTW a BW 72 would also work just slightly longer ( less then a inch ) and a stronger gear .
