So we recently took our 1973 F-36 for a ride. We hit a few big waves and a lot of water came in through some open windows. When we arrived at our destination, we discovered that the navigation lights were on, even though both the above and below switches were off. After some tests, we determined that the nav lights were somehow shorting with the blower; disconnect power to the blower, and the lights turn off. However, the lights stay on even when the blower is off. We recently installed a second blower because our insurance company required it, but we don't think it is related because it was a week before the lights turned on. We have checked the wiring connections and, though they were wet, the problem persisted even after they were dried and cleaned. Does anybody know what the problem might be?

You need to check across the nav switch wiring tabs with a meter to see if the switch contacts are stuck on. You may be concluding incorrectly that it is related to the blower because of a shared wiring route.....
